SAEDI Consulting Barbados Inc. in collaboration with Women Organizing for Change in Agriculture and Natural Resource Management (WOCAN) and the Society of Gender Professionals (SGP) will be hosting a parallel event at the NGO Commission on the Status of Women (CSW66) Forum, New York,  on the topic “Gender Responsive Resourcing for Climate Resilience”.

The session will take place virtually on 22nd March 2022 from 9 AM – 10:30 AM (AST) and is intended to provide a holistic view of the gender and climate resource allocation dilemma. It will address the persistent challenges with the allocation of resources to the disproportionate impacts of climate change on women, noting that only 0.01% of finance is allocated to this issue. While there is effort to mitigate these challenges and support gender initiatives, real access to finance is a proven challenge.

Thus, the session will focus on the integration of gender sensitive resource allocation to the climate space via training and capacity building, emphasizing the point that building effective ecosystem to address this requires people, structures, and money. The goal is to address progression from policy to action and budget to accessible finance.
