SAEDI Consulting (Barbados) Inc. Annual Internship Program

SAEDI Consulting (Barbados) Inc. is offering a 3–6-month virtual internship program, three (3) days a week, focused on research in gender transformative sustainable development. The program provides valuable work and research experience for students and networking opportunities with experts in the fields of gender and climate justice.

  • Applicants must be enrolled in a graduate school program or the final academic year of a first university degree program.
  • Interns will examine topics for SAEDI Consulting (Barbados) Inc and work on multiple projects, supervised by the CEO/Managing Director, task coordinators, and another designate. Topics include coastal infrastructure resilience, gender-based violence, water and sanitation policy, and more.
  • Core competencies include research skills, innovation, interpersonal skills, integrity, continuous learning, and communication.
  • Functional and technical competencies include analytical writing skills, problem-solving, communication, exposure to gender equality concepts, and the ability to work in a multicultural and diverse environment.

Successful completion of the program earns a letter of recommendation from the firm, and interns are considered for paid research opportunities. The internships are unpaid, but an honorarium will be given if the internship proves productive. 

To apply for an internship at SAEDI Consulting, interested candidates must submit a cover letter, current CV, and a writing sample of at least five (5) pages via email to operationsassociate@saediconsulting.com.

The cover letter should include motivation for the internship, understanding of SAEDI's work, suitability and skills for the internship, any additional skills, relevant experience or exposure to desired areas, and three references. If shortlisted, candidates will be interviewed remotely using Zoom, and references will be checked before an offer is made.
