What we do

Our Services

    SAEDI Consulting Barbados Inc

    Flexibility and Adaptability

Listening to our clients, reading the background documents, understanding the country or location context, SAEDI Consulting then proposes a technical approach or methodology that meets with the needs of the client and the beneficiaries of the clients’ work.

    Uniqueness

We programme gender and environment through 7 main areas: Decision-making, Access to and Control over Resources, Livelihoods, Ecosystem, Gender-based Rights and Participation, Governance and Gender-based Education and Assets. This approach allows us to address a broader range of gender drivers as well as the intersections between them.

    Tailoring

We are not interested in reinventing the wheel but seeking to create new wheels, hubs and spokes where necessary.

We adapt our Needs framework and the analytical lens it is used with, for each client and contract, sometimes starting with a tailored Problem Tree analysis.

We tailor what WE do to YOUR needs.

    Purposeful Engagement

After the needs analysis and context definition, SAEDI Consulting then designs a specific solution package built on participatory engagement and adaptive learning. We want you to be able to continue after the contract is over.

That solution package can take the form of:

    • an analytical output e.g. a Social Impact Analysis,
    • a training module or modules,
    • a project document, or
    • an institutional policy, manual or action plan.

We expect our solutions to not only to suit the moment but to grow with the client and beneficiaries as things evolve.

SAEDI Consulting embraces the challenge of wicked problems.

    Powerful Narratives for Change

WE believe that gender, though complex, should be understandable and manageable for stakeholders.

Through the power of narratives e.g. scenarios, situations, lived stories, case studies, cartoons and graphics, we seek to empower our clients for long-lasting and impactful change.

...and you can't do that work without tackling power and the power of interests!

The personal is political is an underlying thesis of the women’s movement for decades, dating back to the 1970s and perhaps earlier. WE embrace the challenge created by the idea that the personal is political and the political is personal.
